Beechmont Board Meeting- May
17, 2010
Meeting called to order by Jeff
Miller at 7:00P.M.
Board Members present:
Jeff Miller, Gary Guss, Vi Thompson, Laura Speedie, Rick
Pickerill, Linda Taylor and Micah Followay.
Guests: Linda Guss,
Donna Pickerill, Louise DeSpain, Paul DeSpain, and Lt. Joe
Manning-LMPD 4th Division
Board Members Absent:
Debbie Thompson, Dottie Krause, Deveney French, Bruce Cantrell,
Elizabeth Meisberg and Bob Starck.
Crime Report: Lt.
Manning reported that property crimes have increased in the
Beechmont area. Burglaries are on the increase and several
juveniles have been arrested. Lt. Manning advised that the
thefts involving residents of the Boys Haven Group Home have
been cleared and thanked the neighbors for providing information
that led to the arrests of the perpetrators.
Old Business:
Jeff Miller reported that the Metro
Council is to reissue a check, payable to Beechmont Neighborhood
Association, for $3600 to pay for landscaping.
A motion was made by Rick Pickerill
to accept minutes from April 2010 Meeting, and a correction is
to be made in reference to spending $55 on mulch for the vacant
lot at 3rd and Florence, instead of $25. Payable to Bennett Lawn
Service, seconded by Gary Guss.

New Business:
Motion made by Micah Followay, to
provide $83 for Farmers Market entertainment, seconded by Laura
Speedie.
Discussion:
Have someone from the IPL office,
speak at a BNA meeting.
Require that e mail voting by the
BNA, be included in the monthly Board Meeting minutes. May need
to add an amendment to Bylaws concerning email voting.
Sign at 3rd and Florence lot will
have a breakaway base, to comply with Ky. State regulations.
Board Members welcomed our new
neighbors, Paul and Louise DeSpain, and appreciated their
input at the meeting. We look forward to seeing them in the
neighborhood and at future events.
