Every neighborhood has its own personality and its own landmarks, and Beechmont is no exception. Invariably, people think of Southern Parkway’s stately trees and the gazebo when they think of our neighborhood. For years it has been not only a landmark, but a gathering place, a spot to stop and rest for walkers and runners, even the spot Santa visits on the first Friday in December. Over the years, the gazebo has begun to show its age. It needs a new roof and a host of other touch-ups and repairs. There is now a “Friends of the Gazebo” fund at L & N Credit Union to give this beloved landmark the care it deserves.
