CNU Project

Earlier this year, we partnered with the Center For Neighborhoods and the Congress for the New Urbanism on the Woodlawn Legacy Project, to build on the success of the 2018 Better Block event, and develop plans for long-term improvement of some of our neighborhood assets. The full report with all those plans is available now:

Woodlawn Avenue Legacy Project

A shortened PDF version of the recommendations in the report is available here

On August 12, we hosted a meeting where anyone from the neighborhood could provide input on which of the projects they’d like to see implemented. The following three were almost unanimously chosen:
1. Parking plan for Woodlawn, including stripes marking parking spaces
2. Crosswalk at the alley in the 300 block of Woodlawn
3. Branding and signage for the business district on Woodlawn

The BNA is working with the Center for Neighborhoods and other organizations to implement these changes, and we'll keep you updated as things happen.
